We already reviewed the best kits in the Premier League, but here are the best jerseys in the world outside of the Premier League. There are some teams you probably haven’t even heard of, but you’ll remember their names after this.
Club Brugge
The Belgian side and Macron have released a stunning new kit design with a multitude of different colored lines. This is a great modern take on the color of Brugge and they really executed this in a perfect way. Macron has made some excellent new kits this year, so stay tuned.
Portobello FC
This football club represents the famous Portobello Road in England. They compete in the Middlesex County Football League but all of their kits could be on this list. To be fair, I put the best one, the third kit, on here, as it is simply stunning. Collaborating with Icarus, an American brand, Portobello FC created a jersey that kind of reminds me of something that KAWS would make. I love the characters on the jersey and it looks really great, blending well together with the black and white.
Norwich City
Right after getting relegated, Norwich CIty have released a cracker of kit releases. But this one is definitely the cream of the crop. Most jerseys with gold on them look good, but with this dark red, the gold is elevated to a whole new level. This is a great new kit, but I wish we were seeing this in the Premier League
Germany
I know I’ve been sticking to the theme of one kit per team, but a. This is a national team b. I don’t care. These kits are simply outstanding. It’s a modern take on a classic kit for the home jersey, which looks superb with the black stripe in the middle. The away shirt is a modern design with red graphic elements. The color scheme on the away kit is unique for Germany and provides a different element for a different Germany team. I love the bronze highlighting on both, which looks amazing.
Las Vegas Lights
Coming from the USL, the second division of United States soccer, the Las Vegas Lights have come out with a jersey that exemplifies the city. Made by a Barcelonian brand called Meyba, the colorful bursts of light are a perfect example of what the Vegas strip looks like at night. The blasts of color work really well with the black and it really pops. For a jersey that represents the city, this is a solid way to go.
San Diego Loyal
Simply put, this jersey is a masterpiece. Made by Mexican brand Charly, the Loyal’s third shirt is great. The light green checkerboard design is amazing, with a Mexican-inspired San Diego logo, a tribute to the large Hispanic population. I particularly enjoy the unique sponsor, Rocket League, which is a soccer video game with cars.
A Unique Crop
This year didn’t disappoint with the kit releases. It’s fascinating that soccer is the only sport that consistently gets new jerseys every year, but I love it because there’s always new designs. (Also, it’s a great way to make money) My favorite this year might be a little controversial, but it’s the Portobello FC third shirt with the faces.
