World Cup Sock Spotting

Over the past three weeks, I, along with more than half the world, have been watching the World Cup. If you know me, you know I’m constantly looking at the players’ feet for the newest cleats and socks. I’ve seen some cool new cleats, (I’m looking at you Messi and Ronaldo) some cool new jerseys, and a cool new sock.

While I’ve heard of Tape Design socks before, I never really was interested in reviewing them because they looked exactly like every other sock on the market. The reviews I read on them were mixed, so I figured they were your run of the mill sock. But when watching the World Cup, nearly half the time they cut to the players’ feet, I saw a unique design under their team sock: the Tape Design one.

This is probably going to be the next sock I review due to all of the players wearing it. The grip elements seem like they’re bigger than most other socks which makes me wonder if it actually makes a difference. I think that it will make the sock more comfortable because the grip elements won’t be the only thing on the bottom of the sock.

I’m really curious to see the performance of the Tape Design socks and to find out if they are worth the hype. If the pros wear them, then they must be good, but how good will be determined.
